General Eligibility Requirements for Study Abroad
- Be a degree-seeking student in good academic standing at GSU: 2.0 institutional GPA for undergraduate students, 3.0 GPA for graduate students, and 2.5 GPA for upper-level Robinson College of Business students.
- Be in good conduct standing and not be on academic probation, suspension or exclusion.
- Meet any additional requirements for your specific study abroad program.
- If you are an international student at Georgia State on an F-1 visa, please contact the International Student & Scholar Services Office at (404) 413-2070 to discuss possible implications of study abroad for your immigration status.

62+ Students
62+ students who are eligible to study abroad can apply to study abroad but are not eligible for IEF or IAS scholarships. 62+ students will not be accepted to a GSU faculty-led program until seven days before the application deadline for their study abroad program. 62+ students would then follow the registration process for 62+ students.
Transient Students
Transient/visiting students can apply to study abroad at GSU and are required to complete the following additional steps:
- Apply to the Georgia State study abroad program of your choice and complete your application. Also, contact the appropriate Program Director and follow any additional steps required for that particular program.
- Submit an application for admission to Georgia State and a non-refundable $60 application fee here.
- Submit a letter of good standing and permission to attend Georgia State from the Registrar's Office at your current/home institution. Undergraduate transient applicants should submit their transient permission letter to:
