Georgia State Programs
Georgia State University offers a variety of study abroad programs including short faculty-led programs and longer exchange programs. Students can study abroad for 1 to 3 weeks during Spring Break, Maymester, or Summer on faculty-led programs or for a semester or academic year on an exchange program. Georgia State University has partnerships with various universities in multiple countries worldwide. Through these partnerships, GSU will send and receive students internationally for one or two semesters, giving them the opportunity to enroll in a foreign university and to experience immersion into a different culture.

Financial Aid and GSU Study Abroad Scholarships are applicable to this type of program as long as the courses taken are applicable to the student's academic degree path.
Financial Aid and Funding
Faculty-led programs are ideal for students who
- Want to take a specific GSU course taught by a GSU professor
- Can't fit a semester of study abroad into their academic plan
- Are new to international travel and want more GSU support along their journey
*Faculty-Led programs vary from year to year. A complete listing of all summer programs will usually be available during the Fall semester.

Academics
All course work will be pre-approved by the student's academic advisor and academic department. The courses completed while abroad on the exchange program will be applied to the student’s GSU transcript as transfer credit

Exchange Programs are ideal for students who

- May have previously traveled abroad before and are quite independent
- Are interested in meeting others from all over the world
Georgia State Affiliate Programs
Students participating in GSU affiliate third-party programs or direct enrollment programs enroll in courses offered by the program or host university and take classes in English or the program's language. Language requirements vary by program.

International Internships
Please note: the Study Abroad Programs office does not coordinate or arrange international internships for students.
International Independent Study
Students interested in completing an international internship or international independent study for academic credit must contact the Study Abroad Programs office to set up an application.
